Gio Zappala
Howdy! I’m Gio, founder of Stratabird Studios. I started my studio because I wanted to escape the corporate sales industry and pursue my lifelong passion for art in all its forms.
I first returned to concert photography as a go‑to gig thanks to friends in the Cleveland music scene. I’ve shot at many venues across Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, and Las Vegas. While I love capturing live shows, I realized it wasn’t my true calling. I needed to find my niche!
I’m a craftsman at heart: I love working with my hands! As a kid, I loved physical art mediums and illustration, and I wanted to return to those roots. I taught myself various creative tools and techniques to create items that showcase my art across different mediums: stickers, magnets, 3D‑printed trinkets, figures, and my signature board game, PÖPASQUÅT. All my items are self-designed and handmade in-house from my studio in Northeast Ohio.
When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy playing pinball, attending local music shows, collecting CDs, PC gaming, birdwatching, and hanging out with my boyfriend and two cats.
I have a TON of work in the pipeline. As a mostly one‑woman show, I take my time polishing each project, but I’m ecstatic to share them with everyone! Follow me along my creative journey on social media, I love to connect with new folks!
